Description of the system functions

Functionality of the calculation

  1. The number of persons in the area is calculated from the total number of persons entering the area minus the total number of persons leaving the area. The change is checked up to ten times per second. Every second that a change is detected it is reported to the nearest second.
  2. The system first calculates the average utilisation rate for each hour and the daily average for these hours, followed by the average for the period. The reading is expressed as a percentage of the maximum number of persons in the working area.
  3. The utilisation rate is calculated as a percentage of the maximum capacity defined for the area and is available in different periods (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, in addition to user-defined periods).
  4. The system is able to report separately the utilisation rate (persons in the space, change per second) for the building, floors and separate sectors of the floors.
  5. The utilisation rate takes into account defined periods of days and times of day during which the number of persons in the space is averaged, e.g. "weekdays 08:00 - 16:00". Weekend holidays are excluded from the calculation of the utilisation rate. For the selected period, first the average of each hour is calculated and then the average of the hours over the period.

Service level

  1. System accuracy of at least 98%, including maintenance outages and incidents.
  2. The accuracy of the areas can be verified by the customer by comparing the calculated incoming and outgoing traffic
  3. Data is available via REST API interface in the customer's own data environment
  4. The customer has ownership of the data and can store it in its entirety if they wish
  5. The system does not store or process any personal data and therefore does not require a GDPR compliant risk assessment (DPIA), however the customer has the right to carry out this risk assessment with the assistance of the service provider.
  6. The utilisation rate is available with a five-second delay as real-time data to the customer via a mobile application
  7. The service provider is responsible for the system's network connections and their functionality. The customer does not provide WIFI or any other network connection to the solution.
