1. Environmentally Friendly Business Model
Supersight is committed to providing sustainable solutions that support climate and environmental goals. Our services enable optimisation of space utilisation, reducing waste of resources.
2. Energy Efficiency and Low Carbon Footprint
Supersight solutions help our customers optimise space utilisation and minimise energy consumption. Buildings account for 40% of energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions in Europe. These are mainly caused by construction, use, renovation and demolition. More efficient use of space is not only an economic efficiency, but also a huge opportunity to prevent climate change.
3. Recycling and Resource Efficiency
Supersight promotes circular economy principles and efficient use of resources by turning used smartphones into smart computing sensors. This reduces electronic waste and extends the life cycle of the devices, minimising the environmental impact of the electronics industry.
4. Digital Reporting and Cloud-Based Solutions
Supersight's SaaS-based service model enables remote management and automated reporting. This reduces unnecessary material consumption, the number of maintenance visits and the environmental impact of logistics.
5. Sustainable Supply Chain
We procure our hardware and software components from responsible suppliers who adhere to sustainable development principles. We aim to minimise the environmental impact of our equipment throughout its lifecycle by using recycled mobile phones.
6. Continuous Improvement and Environmental Impact Monitoring
Supersight continuously monitors and improves its environmental impact. We are committed to reporting our environmental impact to customers and stakeholders, while looking for new ways to reduce our own and our customers' carbon footprint.
7. Benchmarking and Sustainability Performance
As a growing R&D-intensive startup with 8 employees, Supersight reported a turnover of EUR 258,127 and an EBITDA of EUR 88,339 in 2024. Compared to other companies in our sector, our carbon footprint remains significantly lower due to our business model's emphasis on recycling and energy efficiency.
Supersight's total carbon footprint, including operations and services, stands at just 7.5 t CO2e in 2024, with operations contributing 4.5 t CO2e and services 3 t CO2e. Our approach of using refurbished smartphones as sensors and reducing travel through remote maintenance and remote installation gives us a competitive advantage in terms of sustainability responsibility.
In addition, we are developing our AI technology with the LUMI supercomputer, one of the world's most energy-efficient computing platforms, powered entirely by renewable hydropower, differentiating us from others in the field of responsible AI technology development.
8. Future Sustainability Goals
- Further reduction of device energy consumption and expansion of supported recycled smartphone models.
- Transitioning fully to renewable electricity and heating.
- Enhancing supply chain sustainability by prioritizing eco-friendly materials.
